Grade 4 science
Solid, Liquid and Gas (States of Matter)
Water is a great example to use to understand solids, liquids, and gases. Water in its original form is a liquid, it is something that we can touch but it is difficult to hold. If we put water in the freezer which is very cold it becomes ice which is a solid. If we heat up the ice it becomes water again, if we continue heating the water, it then becomes steam which is a gas. We cannot touch gases but they are all around us in the air. When it becomes colder the steam becomes water again.
